Colorado Parents of Blind Children

Our Annual “Day of Information and Inspiration”

 Please join us for a Seminar for Parents and Teachers entitled

Developing Positive Attitudes
Towards Blindness

This event will take place at the 52nd Annual State Convention of the
National Federation of the Blind of Colorado
Doubletree Hotel, 3203 Quebec Street, Denver

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear personal the testimonies of positive blind role models from around the country
  • Listen to a panel of blind/visually impaired individuals speak about their journeys with respect to independent mobility and travel
  • Learn about recent technological developments impacting blind/visually impaired learners
  • Exchange perspectives and concerns with other parents of blind children
  • Discover how your attitudes towards blindness can impact your child’s growth and development, no matter his or her age

Additional Convention Activities:  In its entirety, the larger NFB convention runs from Thursday, October 4 through Sunday, October 7, 2007, and is an exciting annual event that includes educational and inspirational sessions, committee meetings, entertainment, community meals and hospitality.  Convention details and information on accommodations can be found on the NFBCO website.  While families are not required to attend the entire convention in order to participate in the parent program, they are invited to partake in as much of the weekend as they would like. 

Cost:  All participants are asked to pay a $10.00 registration fee at the door

Free Childcare will be available throughout all convention events.  Parents must pre-register their children in order to take advantage of childcare services!  Please call Lucie (phone number below) to find out more.
